BIOGRAPHY
Elaine Escobar was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1980 and graduated from fashion design school. From a very young age, she always loved art and drawing. She started her artistic endeavors making dolls with linen fabric. She soon fell in love with embroidery.
Her work embodies how she feels and interprets symbols, colors, places, and sounds. The embroidered threads represent the connections and layers between what is seen and unseen. The threads are an exploration of her active mind - how thoughts, dreams, fantasies, memories, and desires are connected to the outside world. These experiences and emotions feed her journey and her perception of the unconscious mind and how it reveals the world she lives in.
